Asakusa Kagetsudo, just steps away from Senso-ji Temple. Expect a line on weekends!

It’s crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and lightly sweet — a perfect balance that keeps both locals and tourists coming back.

I personally buy it every time I visit Asakusa — it’s honestly the only melon pan I eat now!
The smell of freshly baked bread spreads through the temple streets, making it impossible to walk by without stopping.

The whipped cream (¥600) and chocolate (¥700) versions are available only at the main shop.

The cream and chocolate versions are only available at the main shop, but if you just want the classic melon pan, you can easily find it at the take-out shop around the corner from Nakamise Street.
The main store often has a long line, while the smaller take-out stand is usually less crowded — a great tip if you’re short on time!

🔥 How to Enjoy It at Home

Each melon pan is wrapped carefully for take-away, so you can bring it back to your hotel or home.
Warm it up in a toaster oven for 2–3 minutes — the outside becomes crispy again, and it tastes like it just came out of the oven!
