A 3-Hour Wait vs. a 0-Minute Wait at Triton

I finally got to try Triton

I had always wanted to visit Triton, a famous conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Hokkaido. Finally, I had my chance.

I arrived at my hotel from the airport around 3 PM.

Thinking it wouldn’t be too crowded at this time, I decided to head to the nearest Triton branch, Triton Kita 8-Jo Kosei.

3-hour wait at the nearest location

I hopped in a taxi and told the driver my destination.

“Are you going to Triton?” the driver asked.

“There’s a 3-hour wait right now. Are you okay with that?”

Wait… 3 hours?! I had heard Triton was popular, but I didn’t expect such a long wait — especially at this time of day.

A helpful suggestion from the taxi driver

Just as I was about to give up, the driver made a suggestion.

“There’s another Triton a bit farther from here, but it’s usually not that crowded. Would you like to go there instead?”

I gladly accepted the offer.

Triton Maruyama: No wait at all

About 15 minutes later, we arrived at Triton Maruyama.

To my relief, the parking lot wasn’t too busy, and when I walked inside, there were several empty seats.

Sure enough — a 0-minute wait!

A delicious first visit

It was my first time at Triton, and the sushi was even better than I had imagined.

I ate to my heart’s content and left feeling completely satisfied.

Next time I visit Hokkaido, I’ll definitely go back.

If you’d like to enjoy Triton without the long wait, I highly recommend Triton Maruyama.

I’m truly grateful to the taxi driver who made this experience possible!
